Michèle Francillon is a Haitian Belgian multidisciplinary self-taught artist exploring human and social connections and the fusion of Haitian culture with European and African cultures.
She comprehends art through painting, collage and textiles engaging the cultures to experience her practice from their own perspective.
Michele has lived in Haiti and Africa for most of her life and currently works in Vienna, Austria. Each brush stroke leads her into a journey to the past and into the segments of a reality that she is trying to weave together in her art. Her work transports her and whoever has the chance to contemplate it into a world of chaos bathed with hope.
Michele Francillon was educated at Maison Desvarieux in Port au Prince, Haiti and has attended the Art Coursera programs of Yale University and the Museum of Modern Art. She has been featured in online publications including Teraz, Kultura in Slovakia and the Art Book of the Vienna International School. Her work is in several private collections and she has also participated in the SIAO International Art fair in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
